About Me

I am an English tutor with over 10 years of experience supporting students with diverse learning needs. I specialise in helping learners with learning differences such as dysgraphia and ADHD strengthen their English skills, develop confidence, and reach their academic potential.

My approach combines evidence-based teaching with structure, patience, and creativity. Each lesson is tailored to align with a student's school curriculum, ensuring consistency and measurable progress. By focusing on both skill and confidence, I help learners engage meaningfully with reading, writing, and comprehension.

I believe that every child deserves to feel capable and proud of their progress. Through clear instruction, positive reinforcement, and targeted practice, I work to build lasting confidence and independence in learning.

My scientific background has shaped my analytical and reflective approach to teaching. I'm deeply curious about how developmental stages influence learning and the specific challenges that can affect written expression.

I have completed the Understanding Autism course from the University of Kent (providing insight into diverse learning profiles) and am currently pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (PGCert) to further refine my educational practice.

My goal is simple: to create a supportive, structured, and motivating environment where every child can experience genuine progress academically and personally.

Testimonial

'After a year of short lived sessions with various tutors, we are blessed and elated to have discovered Tina. Her care, patience, professionalism and temperament are unmatched, and our son's weekly tutoring sessions with Tina are absolutely priceless. It has only been a few months, but we have noticed an instant, positive shift in our 5 year old's receptiveness to learning, from the very first tutoring session with Tina.

I would highly recommend Tina as a tutor for any young person, and more so, as she is an English Teacher with SEN experience. We have had a challenging journey, and to have someone who is so supportive and responsive to the needs of our 5 year old, and to our queries, whilst addressing our concerns in such a swift manner, has been an immense gift to our son'.
